Established in 1946 St Christopher's Church is located in beautiful York Harbor, Maine. The present Church dates from 1970.

In 2006 St Christopher's was joined by St Raphael in Kittery, and Our Lady of the Angels in the Berwicks to form Cluster 27 in the Portland Diocese.


When the Cluster was formed, the Cluster Council worked hard to capture our Mission Statement. The Cluster's Mission Statement is “To foster and promote evangelization in the cluster and to enliven the faith of our parishioners through cooperative efforts.”

Cluster 27 formed with a clear vision for our church community:

• Respect and accept the unique identity, traditions, and customs of each individual parish.
• Grow into a cluster that expresses the universality and communion of the Catholic Church creating a faith community which worships and celebrates life together.
• Identify the needs to be served and develop insightful programs to meet the needs of the entire worshipping community.
• Support and encourage faith communities of prayer, life-long faith formation and parish

Reverend John R. Skehan

Reverend Skehan graduated with a BA in Biology from Bowdoin College in 1978 and also achieved Masters of Divinity Degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.  He was ordained May 24, 1986 in Hampden, Maine by Bishop Edward C. O’Leary.

From 1986-1989 he served as Parochial Vicar at Notre Dame Church in Waterville, Maine and Campus Minister at Colby College, Thomas College and Unity College.

He has also served as Hospital Chaplain at Maine Medical Center, Pastor of St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish and St. Michael Parish in Berwick.

Reverend Skehan became Pastor of St. Christopher Parish in 2006.

Notably Reverend Skehan traveled with Up With People from 1978-1980 and taught Jr. High Science from 1980-1982.

Reverend Joseph William Cahill, Parochial Vicar

Father Joe was born December 31, 1949 in Lynn, MA. He attended local elementary school and high school there and entered the seminary at St. John's in Brighton, MA on September 8, 1968. 

In June of 1973 he changed Diocese and came to the Diocese of Portland and was ordained to the Priesthood on June 20, 1976. 

Father Joe came to St. Christopher's on July 1, 2006.
